Oriental Poppies were one of the die sets in the latest release from Susan so they were perfect!<p></p><p>I knew exactly what I was going to do for this one, as I've had this backing paper for a long time and never used it before. It's a download from the Silhouette Design Store, to which I added the well known words.</p><p>I think every family has someone they lost in the war years. My Grandfather was killed in Afghanistan in 1940, leaving behind his wife and 2 young daughters, my Mam and my Aunty. Sadly my Aunty never met him. This is the only photo we have of him, he was a Serjeant in the Royal Signals.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlhjENz816kqZsi0GqxjKTnockmnTcEECzx2Wt6NpTmYmid3lvrDycudGvXmufVZJM-PDHxrOu7QP9WxPKOTMcTm8LYPfLDF7Es7QL6rZgqhMw-QX2fzHerm7Kifjp-MbxuvH3N4oebJaJ/s960/45848185_2008844195828429_3260043257572229120_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="716" data-original-width="960" height="478" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlhjENz816kqZsi0GqxjKTnockmnTcEECzx2Wt6NpTmYmid3lvrDycudGvXmufVZJM-PDHxrOu7QP9WxPKOTMcTm8LYPfLDF7Es7QL6rZgqhMw-QX2fzHerm7Kifjp-MbxuvH3N4oebJaJ/w640-h478/45848185_2008844195828429_3260043257572229120_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11212157352262803798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2504473362542002088.post-25860821309692933042020-10-25T11:36:00.000+00:002023-02-22T15:41:43.842+00:00Winter Wishes<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_xN-vg9-xRc8ZMHT68701fRmoIbiWhtfhqs24-FyLHFmFw4LELxPloT59Civ01MzerCSi0LD6NDPTynXiWXpkQP_mL1VlXRgB3DcAPaALN3DL_8ml7l_dUpJIxWGdwAE_UkBr7atYi-kn/s786/43bauble.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="786" data-original-width="786" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_xN-vg9-xRc8ZMHT68701fRmoIbiWhtfhqs24-FyLHFmFw4LELxPloT59Civ01MzerCSi0LD6NDPTynXiWXpkQP_mL1VlXRgB3DcAPaALN3DL_8ml7l_dUpJIxWGdwAE_UkBr7atYi-kn/w640-h640/43bauble.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /> I love this simple technique which I saw on Inkylicious's site a couple of years ago. White ink blended through a stencil with a blending brush, well I use shaving brushes.....lol.
