Winter Wonderland

The theme for this weeks challenge over on Winter Wonderland is 'Christmas Dinner'.  Well I was sure I had the perfect image for this one, a digi image of Christmas Puddings, but could I find it..... NOOOOOO.  I must've put it on my external drive and not on my computer.  So I had a rummage in my boxes of card kits by Hunky Dory and found this one.  I'm not a lover of card kits, much prefer to make a card from scratch, but they do come in handy..... lol.

Our sponsor this week is Wild Orchid Crafts

with a prize of a £10 voucher to spend in their online store.  Ooooh just think of all the lovely mulberry flowers you can get.......

Here's my DT card.

An easel card for a change.  Everything is from the Hunky Dory kit apart from the ribbon and gems.

ILPM's #225

The new challenge over on I ♥ ProMarkers has just started where the theme is 'Embossing'.  This weeks sponsor is Milk Coffee with a prize of 5 digi images and our monthly sponsor Marianne Design with a prize of their choice, so a nice surprise.

Here's my DT card.

This image is a digi from A Day For Daisies.  It's a new one to me, one of the DT girls used it last week and when I saw it I just had to have it...... lol.  The BP if from Michele R Designs.  My embossing is the piece of card under the ribbon and I heat embossed the sentiment.

A close up of the image, she's lovely isn't she......

Lavinia Stamps Challenge

This months challenge over on Lavinia Stamps is running till the end of this month and the theme is 'Add Some Beads or Gems'.  I love Lavinia stamps and have done for a long time.  But I've never really had much time to do anything with them till lately.  I've always been on a few DT's, but decided it was time for a change and stepped down from some of them.  So now I'm only part of the DT for I Love ProMarkers, naturally...... lol, and Winter Wonderland.

Here's the card I'd like to enter into Lavinia Stamps challenge.

I used Distress Inks, in Squeezed Lemonade, Dusty Concord, Faded Jeans and Picked Raspberry for the background and Versafine inks in Olympia Green, Crimson Red and Onyx Black,  for the image and greenery.

Tarmac Technique #2

Oh, I think I've got a new addiction....... lmao.
Here's my second one, I soooooo love this technique.  Again, all the die cuts were cut on my Cameo.  The paint used for the base of this one is just the tester pots from Wilkinsons.  Then after removing the bitumen I rubbed some gilding wax onto it, just to 'lift it a little'.
The theme for this one is my Aunty Doreen, who we sadly lost back in April.  She loved the old musicals, so we played 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' (her choice) and 'Singing In The Rain' (family choice) at her funeral.  We chose 'Singing In The Rain' because one Christmas Day night, many years ago and before I had my children, the family were playing a board game, Brit Quiz, at my house.  Doreen had to do a forfeit which was to go outside and sing 'Singing In The Rain'.  So Doreen being the good sport that she was, grabbed an umbrella, put it up and went singing and dancing up and down the street outside my house.........lol.  So we just had to have that played at her funeral didn't we...... she'd have been smiling at us while it played.
She had a massive music collection too and very varied.  She liked Johnny Mathis, so she had also chosen one of his songs for her funeral, 'A Certain Smile'. She also loved anything Disney and actually got to visit Magic Kingdom, Florida with us, back in 1993, her first time ever on an aeroplane!  And yes she rode on all the rides too!

Hope you like this one, and thanks for looking. xx

Tarmac Technique

I've been itching to try out this technique which I came across on Karen Clares blog.  I bought the bitumen and white spirit last week, but not had time to play.  I made time this weekend, and here's my first attempt.  My second one is just drying...... lol.

I'm not so sure about the colours, but  not bad for my first one.  If you've not tried this technique, you really should, it's fun!
Thanks for looking :-)
