Poppie for Remembrance Sunday

Myself and the other ladies on the DT for Susan Tierney Cockburn, decided we would all make a card for Remembrance Day.  Oriental Poppies were one of the die sets in the latest release from Susan so they were perfect!

I knew exactly what I was going to do for this one, as I've had this backing paper for a long time and never used it before.  It's a download from the Silhouette Design Store, to which I added the well known words.

I think every family has someone they lost in the war years.  My Grandfather was killed in Afghanistan in 1940, leaving behind his wife and 2 young daughters, my Mam and my Aunty.  Sadly my Aunty never met him.  This is the only photo we have of him, he was a Serjeant in the Royal Signals.

Winter Wishes

I love this simple technique which I saw on Inkylicious's site a couple of years ago.  White ink blended through a stencil with a blending brush, well I use shaving brushes.....lol.  The stamp is by Inkylicious and simply highted with a white gel pen.
