Fly.............

Another journal page....
I used Aquatints for the background, added some stenciling and stamping.  I also used Aquatints to colour the butterfly and dragonfly, and when dry used a clear sparkle pen from Crafters Companion over the top of the wings.  I then added glossy accents to the bodies and the drops for a bit of dimension.  All stamps and stencils are by Sheena Douglass.
Thanks for looking xx

In The Pink!

There's a new challenge over on That's Crafty where the theme is 'In The Pink'.  I've been playing around with a bit of art journaling this past week or so, so thought I'd do this for the challenge.
I started the background by using one colour Aquatint, working from the bottom of the page to the top to create the 'Hombre' look.  I used various stamps from Dylusions, and Tim Holtz, the lady stencils are from Clarity Stamps.  The working is a stamps by Dyan Reavely - I'm pretty sure the with a pair of sparkly shoes, and a new tiara, she could conquer the world'.  I don't have a tiara stamp, but I thought a crown was just as good.  I also added glitter to the feet to create the sparkly shoes....

Glitter It! with Lavinia

This months challenge over on Lavinia Stamps is Glitter It!  Well you can't have fairies without glitter can you..... lol.
I started of by making the background with Aquatints from the Bright & Beautiful set. Then simply stamped up with various Lavinia stamps, added some white spots to the flowers and finished off with lots of glitter.
Thanks for looking. xx

Best Wishes.......

I made the background with Aquatints brushed onto water colour card, I love this effect.  Then I stamped the flowers with a Sheena Douglass stamp from the Floral Fiesta set, I stamped in Versafine.  Then I used the faux bleaching technique to lift the colour from the flowers.  All you do is apply water with your paint brush and plain water, dabbing with a piece of kitchen roll till you're happy with the effect.  Then I splashed the water over the whole piece which left white spots, again it removes the inks.  This works with any water based ink.  The sentiment is from a Stamps U Love set.

Sugar Skulls

I think I've got a serious addiction to the new stamps by Sheena Douglass, Day of the Dead. When I first saw them, I honestly thought oh they're nice, but not my thing........ well the more I saw the work by Sheena's DT, the more I liked them, in the end I just couldn't resist and ordered the lot!  I've liked Sugar Skulls for a long time.
This is what I've been making over the last couple of days.
I cut and made this shadow box a few months ago using my cameo, but then changed my mind on what I was going to do with it.  So it's just been sat around looking very boring and sad as plain white cardstock. Well once these stamps and dies arrived, I knew just what to do with the shadow box.  I started by giving it a coat of black Gesso.  Then I made the back panels, coated them with Gesso too and when dry ran it though one of Sheena's embossing folders and gave them a covering of Gilding wax, then attached them to the box and left it to dry.
Next I started on the skulls, for these all the stamps are from the same collection and all are painted with Aquatints.  I then die cut the corners and coated them with the Gilding Wax, the box also got the same treatment.... lol.  I love the 3 colours of was together.  I attached the skull with gel glue so that they are raised, then added the corners.
Now I'm looking for space to hang it in my craft room.....
Thanks for looking!

2 Layer Stamping

This stamp is by Hobby Art.  I stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with white embossing powder, then coloured with Aquatints.  For the background I used Adirondack shade Pool.  The sentiment is from a stamp set from Stamps U Love.

Fairies from Lavinia

I've been playing with Aquatints, which is what I made the background with.  All the stamps are from Lavinia.  I used a Spectrum Noir sparkle pen over the top of the leaves.  Since I don't do much colouring now, I bought the pack of clear sparkle pens rather than the coloured sets.

Glitter & Gems

I've been playing with Aquatints, and came up with this background, completely by accident.  I wasn't happy with how I did it at first, so though well before I put it in the bin, I'd have a play around with it.  So all I did was splash more Aquatints and water to it, and this was the result, love the marble effect that happened.  The stamp is from Lavinia Stamps, which I stamped with black Versafine, then heat embossed with Crystal Print Magic ( from DMD), the photo doesn't show the sparkle though, anyway I added gems to it, cut the icicles with a Marianne die, snowflake with a Spellbinders die and added glitter to them.  The sentiment was cut with Tim Holtz dies.
I'd like to enter this into the present challenges at -
Lavinia - Glitter & Gems.

Bright Lights of NYC!

I used Aquatints for the background on this card, sprinkled onto wet water colour card.  I also splashed some plain water over the top and dabbed off to reveal lighter speckles.  Then I stamped over with a stamp from Altenew.  The set is called 'Sketchy Cities America'.  I think this stamp works well with this background, the bright lights of New York! (yes I'm still in love with NYC)

What Really Matters..........

It's Sunday and that's my day to show you a project using the fab Visible Images stamps.  Something a bit different from the usual card for this one.  This also features one of the brand new word stamps which were released on Friday.  If you haven't already, you really should pop over to the shop and see all the fab new stamps for yourselves!
I blew the dust off my Cameo for this one and cut a shadow box on it.  I inked the background with Aquatints, a couple of shades of Adirondacks, Raspberry and Willow and Distress Ink - Vintage Photo. I also over stamped in the same colours,  The flower and words were stamps with black Versafine and heat embossed with black embossing powder.  The flowers and leaves were cut with Sue Wilson Dies.

A bit of experimenting......

I've been playing with Aquatints this afternoon and this is one of the backgrounds I made.  The stamps are by Visible Image.  Looks like there's a storm brewing..... lol.
All the colours are from one set, Landscape.
