Sketch Saturday #35

Another great sketch this week over on Sketch Saturday. I've kept this card quite simple as it's for a man, always hard to make aren't they..... lol, The text if from a set of stamps I bought in Florida last year.

I've been tagged........

I've been tagged by Sharon from Fairy Dust Bag I now have to tag some lucky people.

A reminder of the rules.Rules are as follows:The instructions are to go to where you keep your photo's on your PC, choose the 6th folder, then the 6th picture.....post on your blog and explain.

Bev, because her cards are just amazing and so inspirational.

Indigo Inklings brilliant for tips and techniques.

Calv because his blog is guaranteed to make you smile, nice work too.

Joanne if you like to make paper flowers, take a look here.

Emma, makes lovely cards and also has a nice crafty online shop.

This is my pic...... now I know you're thinking, why has she took a picture like that...... lol. Well I took it last year on our holidays in Florida. We had a lovely lake at the back of our villa and the grasses attracted some lovely dragon flies. I tried to take a pic of one and just as the camera clicked it decided to move to the next grass stem. I did manage to catch it in this pic, but only just, can you see it?.......... it is there, honest....... lol.

Saturday 24 January 2009

This is my card for this weeks Willow Sketchie challenge over on Craftbubble. We had to create our own background, using any medium we wanted, on a gate fold card. I used versamark watermark ink, which is the same as embossing ink. I stamped all over the card then, using a soft broad paintbrush, brushed mica powder all over the card. The powder sticks to the ink and the images appear like magic. I love this technique and it's so easy to do. I heat embossed the image and sentiment.

Fairy Dust Bag

This weeks challenge over on Fairy Dust Bag, is 'back to basics' and to follow the sketch. So we had to keep our project very basic, so no matting and layering. We also had to add a hidden message, mine is in the little envelope. This stamp is by Stamps Away and coloured with, yes, lol distress inks, I'm addicted to them.

21st Birthday

This card is for my Godson, Simon, who will be 21 on Wednesday 28th, he's going to love me for this isn't he...... lol. He was just a couple of weeks old in this picture, hard to believe he's almost 21. Happy Birthday Simon! xx

Sketch Saturday #34

There's another great sketch to follow over on Sketch Saturday. I thought I'd use different colour combinations for a change. The image is by Sugar Nellie which I received in a swap with another member over on Auntys. I coloured her with Distress Inks. I think this image is so cute!

Wedding Cake

This is my latest wedding cake. I iced this cake with just 4 weeks notice. A friends sister went to Gretna Green and got married at christsmas, without telling anyone, she's been with her now hubby since school days. She came back, told the family what she'd done and asked her sister if she could sort out a wedding cake for a party at the weekend. Luckily her sister still had 2 fruit cakes she'd made for Christmas cakes. So because they are the same size, I had to arrange them side by side, it's a bit different isn't it. The decoration was left up to me, which doesn't happen very often. I hope they like it.
