Art Journal Pages

Here's my latest pages in my art journal.
I used Dylusions paints for the background, applied with a baby wipe.  All the stamps are by Dyan Reaveley.
The background was done again, using a baby wipe to apply the paints.  I then used Dyans stencils and various stamps.
I watched a Kate Crane inspired tutorial a while back, I love her work.  This is the result.  I applied the paints with a dry paint brush, blending them till I was happy.  I used various size tops for the circles, there's also some stenciling there.  I coloured the Crazy birds with Distress Inks.  I'm really happy with how this one turned out.
Paints applied again with a dry brush, various stencils and again the circles were done with tops.  I also used an old gift card for the random black lines.
Paints blended with a baby wipe, all stamps and the stencil are by Dyan Reaveley.

Here Come The Girls..........

....... sorry I just couldn't resist that title..... lol.
I was asked to make a Christening card for twin girls.  It's not often I make Christening cards, so I do enjoy making them when I need to.  I used my Silhouette software to position all the wording and to print out.  The crib dies are by Marianne and the corners are Cheery Lynn. (I think)  The little pearl hearts are from Hobbycraft.

Flowers from Inkylicious

I made both of these cards a couple of weeks ago, but kept forgetting to take a photo..... lol.
The flower stamp and the sentiment are both from Inkylicious.  The flower was coloured with Zigs.  The card background are Adirondacks blended with the blending tool.
The same flower stamps, again coloured with Zigs.  I used Brushos on water colour card for the background.  The sentiment is from a set by Altenew.  The black borders were cut with a punch by EK Success.

Bubbles.......

I just love bubbles, but them don't most of us..... lol.
I've been practicing this for a while and finally got a result I'm happy with.  I used Prisma coloured pencils to colour them, and a white gel pen for the highlights.

40th Birthday

Hubby came home the other night and asked if I could make a 40th Birthday card for one of the girls in his office, and this is what I came up with.
I love this image, which is a digi image by Just Inklined.  I love their images and was lucky enough to be part of their DT for quite a while.  This image is still available to buy and download from their website.
I coloured the image with ProMarkers, which sadly I don't tend you use very much at all now.  The sentiment and number were diecut, which I then covered in glitter.  I also added glitter to the shoe.
Oh and by the way, she loved the card.

A Bit of Crocheting,,,,,,,,,,,

Is it a card.................. is it a cake..................nooooooooo it's a BEAR!!!!
I loved making this bear, and might just make another...... lol.  He/She is a Lollo Bear and if you can crochet then you too can make one.  I can knit, but it takes me so long to do and I lose interest too fast.  Crochet is so much faster for me to do.

Week 10 Christmas Card

I heat embossed the image which is from a stamp set by Inkadinkadoo which I've had for a few years.  I also added some gems to the snowflake centres, the sentiment is a die cut.  The lacy edges were cut with a die by Cheery Lyn.
Thats 10 Christmas cards in the box which I wouldn't have had..... lol

Anything Goes.......

................. at the Flower Challenge this month.
I used a stamp from Penny Black called 'Demure' for this card.  I stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in white.  I used water colour pencils to add the colour. I added the background colour with a colour wash using Distress Ink,  I then cut a couple of masks, placed over the flowers and added the text, which I think is a stamp from Visible Image.

Week 9 Christmas Card

Star Bright
This weeks theme is Star Bright.  I used the Aurora Star dies by Sue Wilson, cutting just the fancy piece on the background, then I cut with the outline die in gold card and another using both the fancy die and the outline at the same time.  I creased gently along the centre of the points and glued them together.  I then attached the star with glue gel just to add a bit of dimension.

I forgot to upload......

..... my weekly Christmas cards, so here they are from week 4 to week 8.
Week 4 Recycle
I thought I'd struggle with this one, but while rummaging through my stash I found this lovely snowflake which I removed from a Christmas card we received a couple of years ago, how lucky was that.... lol.  All I needed to do was give it a nice embossed background and mount it onto the card blank.

Week 5 - Christmas Presents
I inked up the background with Distress Inks and gave it a splash of water, which I then dabbed up with tissue, this removed the ink and leaves white splash marks.  I stamped the cat, hat and presents and coloured them with Zigs, then cut them out and added them to the card.  I finished off by stamping the fish decorations and the sentiment.  All stamps are by Tim Holtz.

Week 6 - Gatefold Card
I used a stamp by Penny Black for the Poinsettias, coloured with Zigs, mounted it up onto a die cut oval and added a few sequins.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Week 7 - Red & Silver
The tree stamp is from Stampin Up, Lovely as a Tree set, which I heat embossed and added some gems.  I finished off with a couple of die cut corners and a die cut sentiment.

                                                                Week 8 - Jingle Bells

Stamps for this one are from a set by Sheena Douglass, and coloured with Zigs.

The Flower Challenge - CASE

This months challenge over on The Flower Challenge the theme is 'CASE' which means Copy and Share Everything.  So basically taking inspiration from.

I've had dies since I first starting card making and never used them in this way.  You simply place the die cut back into the card, with a coloured background behind.  The piece I used was a background I made a while ago with Alcohol Inks.  I'm glad I finally got to use it.  The die is by Memory Box.

Altenew Stamps

These stamps are from the Persian Motifs set by Altenew and coloured again with Zig Markers.  I stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in white.  Finished off with a few gems and a sentiment from a different set of stamps, not sure who they're by.

A Bit of Sheena

I've had this stamps for a few years now and it's been inked up...... I think I may have too many flower stamps and I still buy more....... lol.  I have always had a passion for stamps of any kind, but flowers have always been my favourite.
Anyway, this lovely Magnolia stamp is by Sheena Douglass and I've coloured it with Zig Brush Markers (I love them).  The sentiment is from another stamp set but I don't know who it's by.  I finished of with a border die by Cheery Lynn and some gems in the corner.

Altenew Stamps

This stamp is the outline stamp from the Peony Bouquet set by Altenew, the leaves are from the same set.

I used Zig Real Brush pens, using them as watercolours.  I used the same flower stamp, stamping with Distress Ink to create the backgound on the card.  The sentiment stamp is from Dahlia Blossoms set also by Altenew.

The Unfolding.... with Penny Black

I've always loved floral stamps, and these by Penny Black are my favourites at the moment.  This one is called 'The Unfolding'.

I used Zig Real Brush Pens to add the colour.  I added colour straight to the stamp from the pen, then gave it a spritz a water and pressed onto my card.  I repeated a couple of times with the darker shade on just parts of the stamp.  I then scribbled the pen onto my craft mat, added a little water, dipped my paint brush into it, and splattered it onto the card, I love this effect.
The sentiment is from a stamp set by Stamps U Love.

Blue & Yellow

I came across a new blog a few days ago, The Flower Challenge, so thought I'd make a card for their present theme which is 'Blue & Yellow'.
I love flower stamps and have quite a few in my stash.  This stamp is from a set by Hobby Art and is really lovely to work with.  I used Zig Real Brush pens to colour the image, and watered down Distress Ink, splattered with a paint brush for the yellow background, the sentiment is from a stamp set by Stamps U Love.

Week 3 Christmas Card

I used stamps and matching dies by Sheena Douglass for this one, the sentiment is also one of Sheenas.  I did the die cutting first, then pressed the cuts onto the inked stamp.  I used Distress inks to colour the leaves.

Week 2 Christmas Card

My 2nd Christmas card, (making at least 1 a week).  I got inspiration from google.
The main stamp is from Stampscapes, the branches is a tree stamp from Art Impressions (had it for years) and the sentiment is from my favourite set by Just Rite Stamps.  I coloured the cabin with proMarkers the rest was done with Distress Inks.  I also used a white pen for the snow.  The cabin stamp includes the trees and water in front, it's a waterside cabin.  I masked off the water with a sticky note while inking up the stamp as I wanted snow all around.
Thanks for looking.

First Christmas Card for 2017

I was in such a last minute rush for my Christmas last year, so I'm making sure I make them throughout the year, just as I always used to.  I admin a couple of groups on Facebook and have started a weekly Christmas card challenge in one of them, a sure way for me to keep up!
This is my card for Week 1 where the theme is 'Keep It Simple'
I stamped the tree with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I then added a little bit of sparkle with Glamour Dust and also the gem.  The tree stamp is by Art Impressions and the sentiment is by Just Rite Stamps.  I think I may do more of these later in the year.

StarryNight Sky with Lavinia

The first challenge of 2017 is up and running over on Lavinia Stamps.  The theme for this one is Starry Night Sky

I stamped all the images with Archival black ink onto Satin Art Card by Inkylicious and of course all are Lavinia Stamps,  then I added the colour, a mix of Distress Inks and Adirondacks apllied with a colour box stylus. Silly me didn't leave enough space for stamped stars, so I used tiny confetti stars.
Thanks for looking.
