Forever Yours

This lovely image is from the Day of the Dead stamp set by Sheena Douglass, and is called Forever Yours.
I coloured the image with Spectrum Noir Blending Pencils, I love them.... lol.  The background is just ink sprays sprayed randomly onto a piece of card.  I then sponged ink through Sheenas Ornate Finishes stencil.  The frame is from the £ shop and was grey, I gave it a coat of black Gesso and added some black gilding wax to make the patterns pop.  The flowers are also from the same set of stamps and called Floral Fiesta.  I used the left over card from the backing, just stamped onto it and cut out.
Thanks for looking.

Dream & Inspire Canvass

I haven't made a canvass for quite a while and I fancied a change from cards, so here it is.
This one measures 24 x 29 cm, and I started by just adding any random bits and bobs.  That's what I love about doing these, you can add anything at all.  And I love looking at other peoples picking out what they've used. I also added some texture paste through a stencil.  Once that part was finished, I gave it all a coat of black Gesso.  For the colour I used Pebeo Dyna Acrylic paints, just added with a paintbrush.  The colours remind me of the colours you see in oily puddles.... lol.
And here's some close ups of the bits I used.

Glitter It! with Lavinia

This months challenge over on Lavinia Stamps is Glitter It!  Well you can't have fairies without glitter can you..... lol.
I started of by making the background with Aquatints from the Bright & Beautiful set. Then simply stamped up with various Lavinia stamps, added some white spots to the flowers and finished off with lots of glitter.

Love Never Dies

I've not done any of this inky stuff for quite a while.  I started this heart a while ago, and it never got finished.  So this week I got it back out and finally finished it off.  I love looking at mixed media pieces, there's always so much to look at and it's interesting to see what people have used.

It started of as just a plain mdf heart.  I gave it a coat of Gesso, then added all the bits and pieces, there's bits of everything, washers, screws, paper clips, buttons beads, a bottle top, flowers, dominos and of course a coin.  I always add at least one coin when I do this kind of thing.  Once I'd finished adding the bits  I added texture paste through a stencil.  Once it was all dry, out came the ink sprays and I just went for it..... lol.  Lastly I added some Pebeo Dyna paint with a sponge very randomly and finished off with some silver Gilding Wax.  I heat embossed the skull and sentiments with silver and coloured the flowers on the skull with the same Pebeo Dyna paint. (stamps by Sheena Douglass) Now I need to find somewhere in my craft room to hang it!

Butterfly Tag

I blend 2 Distress Inks, Twisted Citroen and Fossilised Amber.  I used the water droplet stamp from Inkylicious and stamped them first lightly with Fossiblised Amber, then again with Versafine Smokey Grey.  I then heat embossed the butterflies from Sheena Douglass and coloured them with the same Distress Inks.  I used a white gel pen to add the white spots to the water droplets and finsihed off with 2 sentiment stamps from the same butterfly set.

Crazy Bird Birthday

This card is for my Great Great Nephews 3rd birthday on Tuesday.  I get a bit stuck doing cards for youngsters since I don't really do 'Cute' anymore, but I think these fun birds are great for any age.
I started by inking up the background with Distress Inks in Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass, and splashed on some water to leave the white splodges.  I then ran it through an embossing folder, and applied some Pebeo Gilding Wax to the raised parts.  I coloured the Crazy Bird with Distress Ink Markers and positioned him so he's standing on the sentiment, which is computer generated.

A Couple of Tags..........

These stamps are by Sheena Douglass and I used Spectrum Noir Blending Pencils to add the colour.  For the tag, I blended 2 Distress Inks - Chipped Sapphire and Tumbled Glass.  I then splashed water over it and dabbed it off to give the white spots, I love doing that..... lol.  I then used a script stamp from a Tim Holtz set and at the bottom I inked through one of Sheenas stencils.

The stamps used on this one are also by Sheena Douglass.  I cut the skull and hat from the matching dies, stamped the skull and hat in Adirondack Sunset Orange.  Then I blended 2 Adirondack ink, Sunset Orange and Citrus over the skull.  I then ran it through and embossing folder and added some gilding wax to the raised parts.  I used a wet paintbrush to pull in some of the stamped ink for the hat.  The flowers were coloured with the Citrus ink and cut out.  For the background I blended the same inks and stamped over with more Sheena stamps.
