First Steps into Art Journaling......

I've always said I don't see the point of journaling........ now I'm dabbling in it....... never say never eh!

I started of just testing some paint dabbers I bought recently, oh it's so much fun making splats with them...... lol.  So then I carried on and added more with ink splat stamps and finished of with a bit of random stamping with a Tim Holtz stamps.  I printed the wording of and cut it up.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK

I'm so in love with this place after spending our 30th wedding anniversary there, back in September, and I'm not a city person!  Now I can't wait to go back.......

I cut Lady Liberty, the skyline and the I♥NY shapes on my Cameo, which I then painted with acrylic paints. I made my own texture paste (pva glue and talc) and added it through a stencil.  I then added red and blue ink sprays, stamped randomly.

Individual looks of each page.

Am I getting the hang of art journaling or what.  Seems a bit like scrapbooking to me..... lol.

First Christmas Card for 2015

I meet up with my neice every Saturday night, she's a crafter too, so we've set a challenge for us both to make a Christmas card every Saturday night!  We've each written down themes, so pick one out and follow the theme to make our cards.  This weeks theme was Bells & Bows.  This will be a big help if we can keep it up..... lol.

I cut the centre piece on my Cameo, then used a die by Sue Wilson, New York Background, to cut one layer, then I used the same die and embossed another layer, then attached them together, matt and layered and added gems to finish off.

A closer look at the topper.

I've been playing again.......

I bought some small MDF plaques a few weeks ago, and never got round to doing anything with them.  So at the weekend, since I was up to date with DT stuff, I thought I'll have a play, and this is what I came up with.......

I love Dandelions, like alot of people, so I just knew I had to use them for this. Everything was cut on my Cameo, the section of the clock face  was a left over bit from a previous project.
Here's a few more pics from different angles...... lol.

Hope you like......

Winter Wonderland

A new challenge has just started over on Winter Wonderland where the theme is 'Girls, Girls, Girls', so your image must include a girl.  Our sponsor is Pink Gem Designs with a prize of 2 digi images.

Here's my DT card using just one of many great digi images from our sponsor,

I used ProMarkers to colour the image and added some sparkle with Chameleon glitter from DMD.  I cut the card base on my Cameo, this is a cut file I made up last year.  I didn't have any blue pearls, so I coloured some with my ProMarker.  Sentiment is computer generated.

Just Inklined To Hop!

It's the first Monday of the month so that means it's time for a blog hop with Just Inklined.  Our theme for this one, set by Dawn, is Fancy Folds.  So I decided to use a circle stepper card, cut on my Cameo, this shape was designed for me by Lizzie Maine, she's a whizz with fancy cutting on the Cameo.
If you're following our hop you should've arrived here from Lori's blog and should now hop on over the Joyce's blog.  If you visit all the DT blogs and leave a comment on each you could be in with a chance of winning 2 digi images.  There will be 2 spot prizes, so go on, go hopping!..... lol

This image is called Honeysuckle and coloured with ProMarkers.  After I cut the card shape, I ran it through the Calibur with an embossing folder, then distressed it lightly with Distress Inks and added pearls from Mei Flower.

The close up view... lol.

70th Birthday

I was asked to made a special card for a 70th Birthday, so I decided to have a play on my cameo and this is what I came up with.  I made the cutting file for the numbers myself, with the help of You Tube.  I could never figure out how to put the loops around the figure, but now I know..... lol.

The BP is from Bearly Mine.

Not bad is it for my first time  making loops..... lol.

Sneaky Peek from La Pashe

I have a fab sneak peek for you tonight.  La Pashe have been working with Adela Rossol from Creations by AR and have put together a great template CD!  This CD contains 30 3D templates in both SVG and PDF files, so brilliant for those of you who have digital cutting machines or even if you prefer to cut by hand.
If you're attending the NEC, you can be some of the first crafters to buy this CD for just £19.99, a bargain for all those templates.
La Pashe's stand is number G40, so be sure to stop by and take a look.

This CD is called Spring & Summer 3D Templates.

The DT girls were given a template each to play with and I got the Lantern.

I love this little lantern.  I added some vellum to the insides and a little battery operated tea light.   You could put sweets inside as a nice little present for someone too. I cut all of this, including the cones and pine boughs on my Cameo.

ILPM's #150 - Tag It!

This weeks challenge over on I ♥ ProMarkers has just began and our theme for this one is 'Tag It', so we need to either see a tag on your project or your project can be just a tag.  We have a brilliant new sponsor for this one, Polka Doodles with a fab prize of a CD with 100's of printable elements on it.

Here's my DT tag.

I got my AquaMarkers out for this one.  I cut the tag on my Cameo, scribbled with a couple of colours on my craft mat, spritzed it with a bit of water, and placed the tag in it to pick up some of the ink, added some flowers and a sentiment.  This can either be put on a gift or added as the topper on a card.
