40th Birthday

The present challenge on That's Crafty (22.7.16) is Feminine.
It's my nieces 40th on Friday, so I thought I'd make her card a little different.
I repeatedly stamped the water droplets to cover my piece of card stock, this stamp is from Inkylicious.  Then I used Distress Markers to add the colour.  I then went back to each one and removed some colour from the bottom of the droplet, just with a paint brush and water, then added the white dots on each with a gel pen.  This give them so much dimension.  Next I blended some Distress Inks onto a piece of white card and cut them out with a die, added a little bit of stamping before adding them to the card.  I printed the sentiment and cut it out with tag dies by Sue Wilson.
I think the water droplets look like gems or misshapen jelly beans..... lol.
Thanks for looking.

Crazy Bird Birthday

This card is for my Great Great Nephews 3rd birthday on Tuesday.  I get a bit stuck doing cards for youngsters since I don't really do 'Cute' anymore, but I think these fun birds are great for any age.
I started by inking up the background with Distress Inks in Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass, and splashed on some water to leave the white splodges.  I then ran it through an embossing folder, and applied some Pebeo Gilding Wax to the raised parts.  I coloured the Crazy Bird with Distress Ink Markers and positioned him so he's standing on the sentiment, which is computer generated.
Thanks for looking.

Micro Beads

I've been playing with texture paste and microbeads again, I just love this technique.
I used a stencil from Imagination Crafts and inked through it with Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers.

Give this techniques a try, I'm sure you'll love it too.

Micro Beads & Texture Paste

I've been blog hopping for the last couple of weeks and came across Eileen's blog.  I'd seen Eileens blog a while ago, but just couldn't remember the name of it, so couldn't find it again.  Well how lucky was I to stumble upon it again, via Lavinia Stamps.  Well now it's well and truely bookmarked..... lol.  Eileens work is just gorgeous and there's so much inspiration there, so thank you Eileen.

Anyway, I came across this technique while looking at Eileens blog and thought I'd give it a go.
I inked through the stencil (from Imagination Crafts) with distress inks and dried it off a little with the heat gun.  Then placed the stencil back over the image, taped it around the edges to keep it secure, and spread translucent texture paste through the stencil, carefully removed the stencil and sprinkled micro beads all over it, just like we do glitter.  I did this over a plastic container cos oh do these little beads bounce! lol  Once dry I made it into a card, and this is the end result.  Such a shame I just couldn't get a brilliant picture of the beads, it really is lovely.

I really enjoyed doing this, so will be doing it again.
I'd like to enter this card into the present challenge over on Imagination Crafts where the theme is 'Imagination In Bloom'.  The challenge runs till 31st March.

Just Inklined

This image is called Corner Poppy and is available to buy and download straight away from Just Inklined.
I coloured the image with Distress Ink Markers, embossed the background and added just a little bit of distress ink to take the 'whiteness' off.  I wish I could find a watercolour pad where the papers were actually white and not cream.  I love the one I use now, just the colour spoils it for me.

Check This Out! at Winter Wonderland

A new challenge has just started over on Winter Wonderland and our theme is 'Check This Out!' which means we need to see checks on your papers/ribbons or embellies.  Our sponsor for this one is Crafters Companion with a £10 voucher for the lucky winner.

This is one of my favourite Christmas stamps, but sadly one I've very rarely used..... why..... because I find it a challenge colouring her dress every time.... lol.  I used Distress Ink markers to colour her and the BP is from Nitwits, Spellbinders dies for the Poinsettia and Cheery Lynn for the holly leaves.

Cyclamen by Just Inklined

You can buy and download this 'Cyclamen' image instantly from HERE at Just Inklined.
I used my new Distress Ink Markers to colour this image.  I've always enjoyed  colouring images with Distress Inks, and have been itching to try these since they first came out.  So while I was on my holidays in Florida, I saw them in a couple of the craft shops, and just knew I had to have them.  The full set worked out about £25 cheaper than they are in the UK.  So as you can imagine, once I'd bought them I couldn't wait to get back home and try they out.  I must say I'm impressed and find them easy to work with.  I think if you can colour with Distress Inks, then you'll be fine with these.

The BP is from Nitwits and the border die is a Cheery Lynn die.
