Bright Lights of NYC!

I used Aquatints for the background on this card, sprinkled onto wet water colour card.  I also splashed some plain water over the top and dabbed off to reveal lighter speckles.  Then I stamped over with a stamp from Altenew.  The set is called 'Sketchy Cities America'.  I think this stamp works well with this background, the bright lights of New York! (yes I'm still in love with NYC)

Some news............

.......... I've been itching to mention this since Saturday.......  I've been asked to join the fab DT over on Visible Image, after applying to their DT call a couple of weeks ago.  So I'm thrilled to bits to be joining them and using their fab stamps, hoping to bring fellow crafters some inspiration.  I've used their stamps for a long time now, starting from when I used to run the I Love ProMarkers blog and they became one of our sponsors.

This card uses just one of their sentiment stamps, the image is a stencil and the background was made with just one shade of Aquatints, I think they're brilliant.  Lady Liberty, looks like she's got a lovely blue sky behind her.
And the real thing.....

........taken in September last year when we were in New York for our wedding anniversary.  She's lovely isn't she........

First Steps into Art Journaling......

I've always said I don't see the point of journaling........ now I'm dabbling in it....... never say never eh!

I started of just testing some paint dabbers I bought recently, oh it's so much fun making splats with them...... lol.  So then I carried on and added more with ink splat stamps and finished of with a bit of random stamping with a Tim Holtz stamps.  I printed the wording of and cut it up.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK

I'm so in love with this place after spending our 30th wedding anniversary there, back in September, and I'm not a city person!  Now I can't wait to go back.......

I cut Lady Liberty, the skyline and the I♥NY shapes on my Cameo, which I then painted with acrylic paints. I made my own texture paste (pva glue and talc) and added it through a stencil.  I then added red and blue ink sprays, stamped randomly.

Individual looks of each page.

Am I getting the hang of art journaling or what.  Seems a bit like scrapbooking to me..... lol.
